As the leadership of Hope Presbyterian, we wanted to reach out to you amidst the developing
COVID-19 pandemic and talk to you about how we are responding as a church. This is obviously
a rapidly developing situation and so what we even had yesterday ready to send you now seems
to be somewhat irrelevant today. These are uncharted waters for everyone and so as a church
we’re doing everything we can to help and support you through this season. There are a couple
of things we want to make you aware of:
1. Like you we are keeping a close eye on what the Ministry of Health and our Government are
saying. As a church we’re committed to doing everything they are asking of the public, and to
follow whatever best practices and recommendations they give.
2. We are working towards having church online ASAP and will keep you updated about how to
access this for all our sites.
3. We will keep you updated with all relevant information as it comes to hand. We are also
setting up a webpage that will give you all the info you need but will also allow you to get help,
and also give help if you’re able.
4. Our primary form of communication during this season will be email and our website. Some
of our church family don’t have access to this platform, so if you know of someone who doesn’t
please reach out to them and keep them informed.
We are a people of faith, who serve a God who is unchanging, unsurprised in the face of crisis
and is active amidst these uncertain times. Our Christian faith has a history of walking through
adverse times with plagues, wars, disease and persecution – and this current season will be no
different. Can we encourage you to practice kindness, grace and love to those people around
you as we walk through this together.
We’ll be in touch with you again very soon as this situation develops.
God bless you all
Marty
(on behalf of the Hope Core Leadership Team)
